Meet Tom Salomone, NAR’s 2016 President, who took office during the 2015 REALTORS® Conference & Expo. He is a second generation Realtor® and is broker/owner of Real Estate II, a firm specializing in residential real estate, in Coral Springs, Florida.
Tom is focused on the challenges and opportunities that remain for markets and the industry, including a tight supply of homes for would-be buyers, rising rents making it hard for potential buyers to save for a downpayment, and extending and preserving key real estate-related tax provisions. Tom has also made reaching out to young homebuyers a priority. Millennials make up the largest portion of recent buyers, and NAR continues to highlight the value of homeownership and the importance of having a Realtor® at their side throughout the buying and selling process.
Serving previously as NAR’s 2015 president-elect and 2014 first vice president, Tom has deep roots in the industry, and has been a licensed real estate agent for more than 40 years. In addition to the many positions he’s held with NAR, Tom was president of the Florida Realtors® in 2003.
Tom’s other passion is serving the community through a number of different organizations, including the Boys and Girls Club of America. NAR recently kicked off its national relationship with the Boys and Girls Club of America, and Realtors® and associations across the country are getting engaged through their time and financial support.
