Big news this morning for the housing market. We reported that existing-home sales in June increased 3.2% to their highest pace in over eight years (February 2007).
To put that in perspective, the last time sales were as high as last month (5.49 million), Peyton Manning had just led the Indianapolis Colts to a Super Bowl win over the Chicago Bears and “Irreplaceable” by Beyonce was the #1 song on the Billboard Hot 100.
Last month’s figures also contained several other housing recovery “milestones,” including the monthly median home price surpassing its all-time high.
