NAR in the News – What Realtors are doing about safety

As Realtors® become more aware of the inherent dangers of their profession, prospective home buyers should prepare themselves for a few changes. Gone are the days where your first meeting with an agent took place at a home you are interested in touring. Instead, expect to be asked to meet at an office or a coffee shop, and be prepared to show your I.D.

Using data from the National Association of Realtors® 2015 Safety Report showing that 40 percent of Realtors® have been in situations that made them fear for their person safety or information, Joel Aschbrenner of USA Today spoke with Chris Polychron, 2015 president of the National Association of Realtors®, about the importance of implementing and enforcing safety procedures for agents.
