While most buyers purchase a home to use as their primary residence, a significant share also purchase vacation or investment properties.
Did you know that one-third of recent vacation home buyers bought the property to use it for vacations or as a family retreat? Other reasons for purchasing vacation homes are to convert their vacation home into their primary residence in the future (19 percent); for potential price appreciation (13 percent); and because of low real estate prices and the buyer found a good deal (also 13 percent).
